The past years have seen AEGY’s relentless commitment to improving health, Nutrition, livelihoods, and education, and advocating for social accountability. We have witnessed remarkable achievements, the transformative power of our initiatives, and the unwavering dedication of our team members, partners, and supporters.

Welcome
AEGY has been in existence since 1997. We are not affiliated to any political organization, Tradition/Culture or religion. We are focused on Research, Education, Livelihood, health, Environment/sanitation and hygiene with much emphasis on children’s rights, Gender Based violence prevention and Sexual reproductive health and rights, Mental health, Maternal, Newborn and Child health. Supporting children grow to attain their wholistic growth and Development, support youth build skills for self-reliance.
AEGY has the head office in Kamuli Municipality located in Bunangwe Cell but with other field offices in Buyende, Luuka and Mayuge Districts. We have built capacity overtime through implementing different projects and qualified staff and also training of resource persons, volunteers, AIDS Educators, HIV/AIDS counselors, management and fundraising among others.
The present scope of the programs are the Districts of Kamuli, Luuka Mayuge and Buyende. While as the organization initially formed to target women and youth people only but presently target Women, Youth, Orphans and other vulnerable Children, people living with HIV and the entire community for prevention and care and support activities.
Governance & Management
AEGY Uganda Board of Directors is the supreme organ that governs AEGY Uganda. The Board has Nine (9) members with three committees, the Finance and Audit committee, the Human resource committee and the Program Committee. The Board meets once a quarter to review and give strategic guidance to the organization.
AEGY Uganda Senior Management Team (SMT) as a team of experienced staff including the Executive Director as head of technical team to oversee the Programs Manager, Finance and Administration Manager, the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Manager and auditor.

AEGY will continue its fight community for access to healthcare, awareness campaigns, Nutrition, Mental health, Maternal health, Wash and comprehensive sexual and reproductive health (SRHR) services.
Promoting Sustainable Livelihoods and Organization systems strengthen for better service delivery.
Empowering women and girls with skills, resources, and opportunities to secure sustainable livelihood fostering economic independence and resilience. Strengthened Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL), financial and program systems
Strengthened internal controls, policies and procedures.
AEGY continue its fight against HIV/AIDS by expanding access to healthcare, awareness campaigns, and comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services for young people in the region.
Protecting the rights, advocate for the voiceless and Improved accountability and community responsiveness to rights violation among people.
Empowered community structures in responding to rights violation and abuse among vulnerable people.Strengthen citizen engagement in anti corruption efforts and accountability increased.
Safer environments that promote child safety, well being and development at community and house hold level increased.
Enhance Access to quality Education:
AEGY aims at improving access to quality education by improving the learning environment, feeding at school, skilling opportunities, scholarships, mentoring, and implementing innovative educational programs that prepare them for meaningful careers.
a deliberate intention to reduce the number of children failing national examinations and dropping out of school, reduce child pregnancy, provide alternative forms of education and skilling.
Projects Implemented
- NIYETU Youth project covering 8 Lower Local Governments in Kamuli District since 2015 – ta date. The very organization Plan International identified to implement NIYETU project in Busoga Region and have been mentoring other organisation in using this methodology to reach the youth.
- Mitigating effects and reducing spread of HIV/AIDS. covered 16 Lower Local Governments in Kamuli District
- Participatory action research 6 lower local government in Kamuli deom 2020 todate.
- Hope Never Runs Dry for OVC. Nabwigulu, Kitayunjwa,Kamuli Municipality and Mayuge district.
- Living with Shalom Project. Kamuli District and Buyende. Disseminate improved cook stoves.Life skills promotion and development Environmental awareness campaigns (i.e planting tress)
- Maternal new born and child health in Bugulumbya Sub county, plans under way to implement in Luuka and Buyende as per our strategy. Sub County
- To raise awareness on HIV prevention among children 1-14 years t with support from MUCOBADI and TASO (U) Ltd
- Catalyzing strengthened Policy Action for Healthy Diets and Resilience Project (CASCADE) has an overall goal of to improving food security and contributing to reduction of malnutrition among 1 million women of reproductive age and children under five years. CASCADE's main objectives are to increase access to and consumption of healthy diets among household members particularly women of reproductive age and children under five. The other is to inrease resilience to economic and climate change related shocks and stresses of household members particularly women of reproductive age and children under five. This project is being implemented in partnership with CARE International.
- Malaria Prevention Enhancement. This is aimed to enhance malaria prevention, diagnosis, and treatment through community-driven interventions in Balawoli sub-county, Kamuli district by December 2024.

Greetings to you all.
Welcome to the new face of AEGY website. After quite a number of years, we decided to move with the times and create a more dynamic interface that is more user friendly. We hope through this communication tool, we can reach as many of you as possible and be able to interest you in joining our cause. We plan to pass on allot of information regarding our projects and activities, share reports and a lot of information.
Our major aim is to empower and build capacity of communities leave health and sustain themselves through research, education, address SGBV and reduce the spread of Malaria, HIV/AIDS and its economic and psychological effects among the people of Busoga. It is therefore necessary that all avenues of communication are engaged to influence behaviour change and bridge the information gap while leaving no one behind.
Let us not forget that as we fight on one front the COVID-19 pandemic is also upon us and more so its side effects manifesting now. The AEGY team is working hard to ensure that services are still provided even amidst the changes in service delivery. Let us all work together by adhering to the Ministry of Health and World Health Organization guidelines fight COVID 19..

AEGY Management
AEGY Method Of Work
We are an Non Government Organization (NGO) not for Profit but working with and for the marginalized groups of people, especially Youth, women, children especially the Orphans and other vulnerable children in Uganda to improve and strengthen their Health and Social-Economic wellbeing. AEGY Uganda was founded in 1997 with the initial aim of reducing the spread of HIV/AIDS among the vulnerable women, children and youth to become health and self-reliant, through Health, Educational and Economic empowerment interventions.
AEGY is deeply involved in research and for every project we use a Participatory Planning, implementation, reporting, monitoring and evaluation methods that involves all stake holders such Community leaders, beneficiaries, other Developing Partners in monitoring and evaluation process. We hold inception meetings for a new project and let the stake holders contribute. The Logic Framework approach is used for project monitoring and evaluation of all program program activities. The respective project log frames are developed with objectives, outputs and outcomes with relevant indicators and milestones to ease monitoring processes.
Our program activities are beneficiary centered where the beneficiary are involved at all stage of the project execution.
